How to Fix Cracked Glass

You may have had problems with glass cracking on tables, windows, and the like.
This can be caused by a rock hitting or placing an object on a glass table.
Today we are going to teach you how to fix cracked glass.
First of all, keep in mind that this tutorial is not suitable for broken glass or cracks larger than 1 inch.
In the same way, it will not be repairable if the double-layer glass, which has cracks on both sides.

With the help of this tutorial and a few simple tools, you can solve a small gap in the glass.
You need to remember to repair the glass gap immediately.
Because if exposed to moisture, temperature fluctuations, dust, etc., the glass will have a larger gap.
You can repair the table on the glass, vases, bathroom doors and single-walled and double-glazed windows on one side of which there is a gap.
This tutorial is not suitable for repairing car windows.

The materials required for restoration are as follows.

– Liquid dishwashing soap
–  Clean rags
–  Twopart epoxy
–  Paper plate
–  Toothpick
–  Putty knife
–  Razor blade
–  Acetone
–  Glass cleaner

STEP 1: Clean the glass with dish soap.

Wash the glass around the crack with a drop or two of dishwashing soap on a damp cloth. You’ll want to remove any dust, oil, or fingerprints, and then wipe the spot with a clean damp cloth to remove the soap residue. Let the glass dry completely.

STEP 2: Mix up the two-part epoxy.

In a well-ventilated area, prepare epoxy adhesive on a piece of cardboard or disposable container.
This model consists of a combination of a separate resin and a hardener that are mixed together during operation.
Continue to mix the epoxy with the toothpick for at least 20 seconds.
After doing this, be ready to use this solution because this solution will harden immediately.
Before the epoxy hardens, you have 5 to 10 minutes to use the solution.

STEP 3: Apply the epoxy to the crack in the glass using a putty knife.

Press the epoxy over and into the crack with a putty knife. Work the adhesive back and forth across the crack, gently pressing it into the damaged area. Let the epoxy cure for at least five minutes.

STEP 4: Remove excess epoxy with a razor blade and let the rest cure.

Scrape away excess epoxy with a razor blade, and then wipe the area with a clean rag moistened with acetone to further remove epoxy that’s raised above the crack. Let the repaired glass cure for 24 hours.
